State Councilor Zhao Kezhi called for improving the governance of society, standards for building a safe China and creating a harmonious and stable social environment, during an inspection in Zhejiang province on Sept 7-9.

Zhao, who is also minister of public security, hailed the importance of learning, practicing and promoting the modern “Fengqiao experiences”-- local governments’ experiences in dealing with disputes, and relying on the people to cope with problems.

He visited the local police station in Fengqiao township and communities of Zhuji city, and grassroots police units in Hangzhou, and led several symposiums there. Zhao urged learning the significance of “Fengqiao experiences”, improving the level of police cadres, and innovating police affairs.

He also urged the police group to utilize law-based concepts and methods to prevent risks, resolve conflicts, and secure people’s lawful rights to increase their sense of achievement, happiness and safety.
