State Councilor and Secretary-General of the State Council Xiao Jie stressed deepening the reform on administration streamlining and administration, and improvement in government services.

He made the remarks during an inspection in East China’s Jiangsu province from Oct 16 to 17. Xiao called for deepening the reform to build a top-level convenient and international business environment ruled by law.

He visited a local government service center, and an economic and technology development zone in the capital city Nanjing, communicated with local enterprises and people, and held a symposium to hear from enterprise owners.

Xiao spoke highly of local practices in improving the business environment and services, stressing the promotion of successful experiences.

Efforts should be made to focus on problems that people are concerned about, strengthen innovation and build a top-level business environment to better inspire market vitality and release domestic potential demands, he stressed.

To better improve the business environment, he urged the local government to further release market access, shorten project approval times and the time for setting up an enterprise, lower institutional transaction costs and taxes, strengthen oversight during and after the approval, and optimize government services.
