Vice-Premier Liu Yandong on May 20 attended the opening ceremony of the 2017 National Science and Technology Week in Beijing.

At the ceremony, several innovation products, science education projects and scientific projects for poverty alleviation were displayed.

From May 20 to 27, over 4,000 activities will be held across the country. The closing ceremony will be held in Shanghai.

Since 2001, the event has drawn over 1.3 billion participants.

Guo Jinlong, secretary of the Beijing Municipal Party Committee, also attended the opening ceremony.
