Foreign minister meets Mexican counterpart

State Councilor and Foreign Minister Wang Yi held a meeting with Mexican Foreign Minister Marcelo Ebrard in Beijing on July 2.

Wang said China is willing to enhance the connection of development strategies, exploit cooperation potential, and develop increasing points in cooperation in emerging areas with Mexico. China will also strengthen coordination in international affairs, defend multilateralism and protect the common interest of developing countries with Mexico, Wang said.

Ebrard said that Mexico has attached great importance to the deepening Sino-Mexican all-around strategic partnership. The two countries have reached consensus in supporting multilateralism, defending the global trading system and improving global governance, he said. Mexico is willing to enhance coordination and cooperation with China, Ebrard added.
