State Councilor and Secretary-General of the State Council Xiao Jie stressed continued efforts to improve the information disclosure system for government affairs at the third meeting of the national leading group for openness in government affairs on June 15.
At the meeting, a report was heard on information disclosure in prevention and control of the COVID-19 epidemic, and results were released on promoting the revised regulation on the disclosure of government information after its entry into force last year.
Xiao, also the leader of the leading group, said since last year governments at all levels have achieved positive results in orderly implementing the revised regulation, improving interpretation and responses of newly-released policies, fully starting management of government information and promoting information openness on COVID-19 prevention and control.
Focusing on modernization of the system and capacity of state governance, efforts should be made to further improve the information disclosure system for government affairs, enhance interpretation and responses to policies and strengthen the information disclosure for public health emergencies, Xiao said.
Also, efforts should be made to promote unified disclosure of key information, advance implementation of the revised regulation, and standardize openness of government affairs at the grassroots level, he added.
