Zhao Kezhi, state councilor and minister of public security, inspected the grass-roots security forces in North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region and Northwest China's Ningxia Hui autonomous region.
Zhao said security forces should continue to promote anti-secession campaigns, fully implement anti-terrorism measures, and fulfill the task of safeguarding stability in regions with ethnic groups and religions.
And further efforts should be made to enhance national unity, beef up grass-roots social governance, tackle discord, and crack down on illegal acts that damage the ecological environment, Zhao said.
Local security forces should deepen supervision and management reform of law enforcement, and carry out law enforcement in stringent accordance with rules and regulations.
An all-around political discipline should be in place, Zhao added, in a bid to usher in a strong public security force.
