State Councilor and Minister of Public Security Zhao Kezhi stressed efforts to maintain State security, social stability and national unity during his inspections in Northwest China's Gansu and Qinghai provinces from Sept 19 to 21.
He inspected public security organs at the grassroots level, residential communities and places for religious activities, and visited police working on the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau.
He called on seizing the initiative in fighting against separatism through strengthening intelligence analysis, improving work plans and capability of dealing with emergencies and intensifying management of religious affairs in accordance with law.
In addition, work should be enhanced to refine mechanisms and governance by rule of law, and improve the construction of administrative organizations at the primary level, he said.
