In an article published in People's Daily, State Councilor and Minister of Public Security Zhao Kezhi stressed that the police force, following President Xi Jinping's order during the conferring ceremony of the police flag, must be loyal to the Party, serve the people, and be impartial in law enforcement and strict in discipline.

Zhao called for the police force to further study and carry out the order by President Xi.

The police force must uphold the Party's absolute leadership and be fully loyal to the CPC Central Committee with Comrade Xi Jinping at its core, in an effort to safeguard national security, social stability, socialism with Chinese characteristics and the Constitution, Zhao wrote.

The police force must remain committed to serving the people. Guarding political security should be a top priority, and conflicts, disputes, and outstanding security problems must be resolved to ensure people's sense of gain, economic development and social stability, Zhao said.

He also stressed efforts to strengthen the credibility of law enforcement and the administration of justice, and to ensure fairness and justice in handling all cases and matters, as they are the fundamentals of police work to be firmly grasped.

Zhao underlined the importance of strict discipline, and urged the police force to forge iron-like discipline and conduct.

Any corruption and unauthorized use of power will be punished severely, and all disciplines must be thoroughly implemented, Zhao said.

A long-term regular system to ensure strict discipline must be established, in order to guarantee the fulfillment of missions and tasks entrusted to the police by the Party and the people, he added.
