The spirit of outstanding police officers in the new era should be promoted to encourage public security organs and officers as well as members of the civil police force across China to follow their example, in the latter’s efforts to assume the missions and tasks entrusted by the Party and the people and safeguard the country’s political security and social stability, said State Councilor and Public Security Minister Zhao Kezhi on Dec 21.

The remarks came during a talk with national role models in the public security force and family of civil police force members who sacrificed their lives, to whom he extended great respect.

Zhao required public security teams and civil police to stay true to their original mission, be brave in shouldering their responsibilities and faithfully perform their duties, while learning from their exemplars.

They should deliver on the promises of being loyal to the Party, serving the people and pursuing fair law enforcement with strict discipline, he said, calling for concrete actions to demonstrate their devotion and selfless dedication to the public interest.
