BEIJING — State Councilor Zhao Kezhi called for unremitting anti-terrorism efforts to ensure China's political security and social stability.
Zhao, also chief of a national anti-terrorism leading group, made the remarks on Feb 2 while addressing a national anti-terrorism conference via video link.
This year marks the centenary of the Communist Party of China and the start of the 14th Five-Year Plan. The country is embarking on a new journey of fully building a modern socialist country, noted Zhao.
Under these circumstances, public security departments must be aware of the new challenges in anti-terrorism, and remain highly vigilant in this regard, said Zhao.
Zhao also urged public security departments to maintain high pressure on possible terrorist activities and prevent them from the root at the same time.
