State Councilor and Minister of Public Security Zhao Kezhi on Feb 28 inspected security work in Beijing and neighboring Hebei province, urging police officers and auxiliary police personnel to fully carry out security measures in a thorough manner and consolidate the line of defense, in an effort to usher in a favorable social environment for the upcoming two sessions.

He inspected the Xingli Public Security Inspection Station in Beijing, Zhuozhou Public Security Inspection Station in Hebei, and the headquarters of public security forces surrounding Beijing, where he visited police officers and auxiliary police personnel on duty.

The whole public security force should focus on the big picture, implement social control measures, and strictly monitor entry to Beijing, to ensure a safe environment, Zhao said.

Noting that inspection and control call for high accuracy, Zhao pressed for the role of technology and big data, which will help with more convenience for people and unimpeded transportation.

And regional authorities should carry out their respective responsibilities and beef up coordination and cooperation in this regard, with highly efficient epidemic prevention and control measures and contingency measures for conflict management fully in place, he added.

Additionally, a slew of measures should be taken, highlighting resolving conflicts and disputes, rigorously preventing terrorist incidents and individual cases of extreme violence, among others, Zhao said.
