Sowing season is in full swing in northeast China's Liaoning Province, one of the country's major grain-producing provinces. Through scientific field management, the sloping fields that used to "lose soil, lose water and lose fertilizer" have been transformed into the "three-protection" terraced fields that can retain soil, water and fertilizer.
At present, the sowing area of grain crops in Liaoning Province has reached 39.477 million mu (2.63 million hectares), accounting for 73.5 percent of the expected sowing area. Among them, the spring sowing of corn is nearly 90 percent complete.
