BEIJING — China saw a significant increase in the total broadcast time of public service announcements (PSAs) on TV and radio last year, according to an annual report on the country's radio and TV sectors.
PSAs shown on TV in 2019 totaled 690,300 hours, up 29.44 percent year-on-year and accounting for 32.57 percent of the total TV ad time, said the report issued by the National Radio and Television Administration.
Radio PSAs saw a similar trend, with the total broadcast time for 2019 coming in at 385,200 hours, up 17.51 percent year-on-year and accounting for 28.64 percent of the total radio ad time.
The report also noted that last year's total ad time on both TV and radio in China dropped by 0.8 percent and 1.05 percent year-on-year, respectively.
