BEIJING — The total bond issuance in China stood at 4.51 trillion yuan (about $712.6 billion) in January, data from the central bank shows.
The issuance of treasury bonds reached 466 billion yuan, and the issuance of local government bonds came in at 698.86 billion yuan, the data shows.
In January, financial bond issuance stood at 797.1 billion yuan, and corporate bond issuance hit 1.33 trillion yuan. The issuance of asset-backed securities totaled 25.94 billion yuan, and the issuance of interbank deposit certificates reached 1.13 trillion yuan.
By the end of January, outstanding bonds held in custody hit 134.8 trillion yuan, the data shows.
