ZHENGZHOU — Foreign trade of Central China's Henan province grew 7.9 percent year-on-year to more than 395.8 billion yuan (about $58.6 billion) in the first half (H1) of 2022.
The figure also represents a 73.1 percent increase compared with that in the same period of 2020, said customs authorities in Zhengzhou, the provincial capital, on July 19.
Of the total, the province's exports gained 7 percent to more than 245.7 billion yuan, while its imports rose 9.3 percent to over 150 billion yuan.
Notably, Henan's processing trade accounted for 58.1 percent of its foreign trade during the period. In H1, the private sector posted 16.1 percent growth in terms of foreign trade volume in Henan.
The province also saw its foreign trade with countries along the Belt and Road increase 28.4 percent to more than 105 billion yuan from January to April.
