HEFEI — East China's Anhui province has reported robust growth in its auto industry in the first half of 2022, according to the provincial department of economy and information technology.
A total of 781,000 automobiles were made in H1 of 2022, up by 6.1 percent year-on-year, the department said.
New-energy vehicles (NEVs) accounted for 27.4 percent of the total output, with 214,000 units, up 94.1 percent year-on-year.
Chery Holding Group, Anhui's major automaker, sold 475,250 units worldwide in the first half of 2022, a year-on-year increase of 12 percent. It exported 148,000 vehicles, a year-on-year increase of 25 percent, to overseas markets such as Brazil and Egypt.
In the same period, another Anhui-based auto giant JAC Motors sold 235,200 units, including 48,700 units exported to the overseas market.
