China's railway network handled more than 70 million passenger trips during the just-ended Dragon Boat Festival holiday, an increase of 11.3 percent compared with that in 2019, the national railway operator China State Railway Group said on Monday.
A total of 70.38 million rail passenger trips were recorded over the five-day period, which ended on Sunday.
Some 16.87 million trips were made on Thursday, the peak day.
More train services were arranged to meet passengers' needs, the group said.
The operation of peak train schedule was implemented, with an average of 10,776 passenger trains every day. On the peak day, a total of 11,174 trains were operated.
