BEIJING, July 16 -- The installed capacity of power batteries in China climbed 16.5 percent in June 2023 compared with the previous month, buoyed by the sound development of the country's new-energy vehicle (NEV) market, industry data showed.
During the period, the installed capacity of power batteries totaled 32.9 gigawatt-hours (GWh), increasing by 21.8 percent year on year, data from the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers revealed.
About 22.7 GWh of lithium iron phosphate batteries were installed in NEVs, surging 47.5 percent from a year earlier, and making up 69.1 percent of the monthly total.
In the first six months of 2023, the installed capacity of power batteries rose 38.1 percent year on year to 152.1 GWh, according to the association.
