BEIJING, Oct. 7 -- China's express delivery industry handled more than 5.1 billion parcels during the Mid-Autumn Festival and National Day holiday that ended on Friday, mirroring the sustained recovery momentum of the country's courier services industry.
Of the total, 2.575 million parcels were collected during the period, according to data released by the State Post Bureau on Saturday.
Daily volume of collected parcels during this period went up 8.6 percent compared with the National Day holiday last year, according to the bureau.
The number of parcels delivered totaled 2.572 million, and the daily volume of delivered parcels during the period expanded by 18.7 percent from the National Day holiday period in 2022.
This year's Mid-Autumn Festival and National Day holiday, which ran from Sept. 29 to Oct. 6, is the longest public holiday in the second half of the year in China. Family members also send special festival purchases to each other during this period.
