BEIJING, June 1 -- China's first zone for the headquarters of international science and technology organizations was officially inaugurated in Beijing on Wednesday.
Built by the China Association for Science and Technology and the municipal government of Beijing, the zone has so far attracted eight organizations, including the International Society for Digital Earth and the International Hydrogen Fuel Cell Association.
The zone aims to foster the harmonious alignment of China's scientific and technological achievements and global progress in the field, said Shu Wei, an official of the China Association for Science and Technology.
Shu expressed confidence that this development will facilitate the greater participation of Chinese science and technology professionals in global governance. Moreover, it will contribute to fostering openness, trust and cooperation within the international scientific and technological community.
