China maintained a stable operation of the domestic job market in the first half, with the unemployment rate remaining under control in a reasonable range, said the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security on Friday.
Latest figures cited from the ministry show that 6.78 million people have landed jobs in urban areas in past six months, which is 57 percent of the year's target. The surveyed unemployment rate in June fell to 5.2 percent, a decline of 0.3 percentage point year-on-year.
Chen Yongjia, the ministry's vice-director of employment promotion department, said the job market will remain stable with recovering economy and supportive policies on employment.
However, he said it will still take efforts to reach the year's employment target - helping 12 million land jobs in urban areas, due to the influences brought by the complicated global political and economic situation, as well as the still-unstable foundation for sustained recovery and development of the domestic economy.
