The Khorgos Port, a border port in northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, handled a record high of 7,762 China-Europe freight trains in 2023, up 9.8 percent year on year. The port has seen over 33,000 China-Europe freight trains pass through it since it served the first freight train in 2016. The Khorgos Port now serves as a transit point for 80 China-Europe freight train transport routes, linking 45 cities in 18 countries.
