Beijing and Zhangjiakou City in neighboring Hebei Province, which co-hosted the Winter Olympics in 2022, have established a sports, culture, and tourism belt to preserve the Olympic legacies. This belt features the districts where Olympic venues are situated as the core, as well as high-speed railways linking the two cities and areas along the railways.
During the Spring Festival holiday from February 10 to 17, Chongli received 470,000 tourists, generating a total revenue of over 500 million yuan (about $69 million). In 2023, the Winter Olympic venues in Zhangjiakou hosted a total of 303 events, attracting more than 89 million tourists and generating a total tourism revenue of over 100 billion yuan (about $14 billion).
