Nearly 150 million tonnes of autumn grains in major food-producing areas nationwide have been purchased by the government, accounting for 75 percent of the purchase work.
China's purchase work of mid-season and late-season indica rice ended at the end of January, with a cumulative purchase of over 27 million tonnes. The purchase work of japonica rice is expected to be completed at the end of February with a cumulative purchase of over 30 million tonnes. Grain enterprises in northeast China are presently carrying out purchase work.
