BEIJING, March 26 -- A collection of articles by late Chinese leader Li Peng has been published and is now available nationwide.
The two-volume compilation features 207 of the significant articles and works authored by Li between September 1983 and March 2003, many of which have been made public for the first time, according to its publisher, the People's Publishing House, on Tuesday.
The book is expected to help people gain a better understanding of the history of the new period of reform, opening up, and socialist modernization under the leadership of the Communist Party of China (CPC), the publisher said.
Li passed away in 2019 due to illness at the age of 91. He had served as a member of the Political Bureau and member of the Secretariat of the 12th CPC Central Committee, a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the 13th, 14th and 15th central committees of the CPC, premier of the State Council, and chairman of the ninth National People's Congress Standing Committee.
