BEIJING, Aug. 17 -- At the invitation of Xi Jinping, general secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee and Chinese president, To Lam, general secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) Central Committee and Vietnamese president, will pay a state visit to China from Sunday to Tuesday.

Born in July 1957, To Lam has served as Vietnamese president since May 2024. In August, he was elected as general secretary of the CPV Central Committee while continuing to act as Vietnamese president.

The trip will be his first state visit to China as general secretary of the CPV Central Committee and Vietnamese president.
