China's railways handled 726 million passenger trips in January and February, up 4.7 percent year on year and hitting a new high, China State Railway Group said on March 10.
The 40-day Spring Festival travel rush quickened cross-regional passenger flows in the first two months of 2025, with student, work, family visits and tourism flows leading to a notable increase in railway passenger traffic. China State Railway Group promptly boosted transportation capacity, operating 11,605 passenger trains on average daily, marking an 8.7 percent year-on-year increase.
