BEIJING, Nov. 4 -- Chinese Premier Li Qiang met with World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) Director General Daren Tang in Beijing on Wednesday.
China and WIPO have carried out fruitful cooperation in global intellectual property services, information technology, human resources and other fields in recent years, Li said.
China stands ready to work with WIPO to continuously deepen and solidify cooperation, promote international cooperation on intellectual property rights, and make greater contributions to global innovative development and common prosperity, Li added.
Li said China will continue to support WIPO's work, and is willing to play a greater role in global intellectual property governance. It is hoped that WIPO will continue to support the development of China's intellectual property cause, build more platforms for exchanges and cooperation, and provide more convenient and high-quality services for Chinese users.
Congratulating China on the remarkable achievements made in its intellectual property cause, Tang noted that China has ranked among the top 10 in the Global Innovation Index with the largest number of top 100 innovation clusters, adding that its innovation economy in industries such as film and gaming is advancing rapidly.
Tang said China's experience in the development of intellectual property rights provides useful references for other countries, noting that the WIPO is willing to deepen cooperation with China, promote Belt and Road cooperation, and jointly facilitate scientific and technological innovation and economic development.
