URUMQI — A total of 90 China-Europe freight train routes are running through the Alataw Pass, a major land port in Northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region, said the customs of Alataw Pass on Sept 9.
Twenty-five of them were newly launched this year. In 2022, the Alataw Pass has seen an average of 17 inbound and outbound China-Europe freight trains daily, with a maximum of 24 trains a day.
The freight trains mainly depart from China's Chongqing municipality, Shaanxi province, Sichuan province, and Henan province and can reach 18 countries, including Germany, Poland, Belgium, and Russia.
Alataw Pass launched the China-Europe freight train service in 2011. Major imported goods that pass through the port are automobiles and accessories, cotton yarn, and timber, while exported goods mainly include household appliances, clothing, and daily necessities.
