In Jingdezhen, Jiangxi province, known as China's porcelain capital, the long production chain and large amount of capital needed in the ceramic industry made it hard for young designers to produce and sell their products on their own. And traditional companies could not satisfy young consumers who wanted more innovative designs.
To address this issue, Jingdezhen is exploring a way for local State-owned enterprises and young ceramic designers to work together, with young designers providing ideas and enterprises providing loans and modern production chains. The products are labeled both by designers and enterprises, so the designers can see their ideas take shape and enterprises can see more profits.
Today, there are more than 200 ceramic brands generating win-win results thanks to these efforts.
