Medical staff members distribute medicine to patients in the First Hospital of Changsha in Central China’s Hunan province on Aug 11, 2021. The smart pharmacy in the hospital has been put into operation recently. It features an automatic management system for drug storage and distribution. The system can automatically dispense the medicine according to reviewed prescriptions, and the medicine is taken by a robotic arm and sent to the service window through a transfer passage. It has improved the efficiency and accuracy of dispensing and distribution, and shortened the waiting time for patients. The smart pharmacy is also equipped with an intelligent management system for narcotic drugs to further promote the overall improvement of drug safety and pharmacy administration efficiency.
