Yangshao Village National Archaeological Park opens in Mianchi county, Central China's Henan province, on Oct 17, 2021. The site, where Yangshao Culture was founded and named, is among the first batch of national key protected cultural relic units announced by the State Council in 1961. With a total planned area of about 2,800 mu (187 hectares), the park serves as a national archaeological park, with site protection, scientific research, education, popularization of science, and sightseeing among its functions.
