The CPC Hainan Provincial Committee and Hainan Provincial Government have attached great importance to the fight against the epidemic caused by the novel coronavirus (2019-nCoV) and made unified deployments. On Jan 25, 2020, the level I public health emergency response was activated. So far the preventive and control work has been carried out in an orderly and effective way. Hereby, we would like to make following suggestions for all foreign friends in Hainan:
I. Follow authoritative information. Please refer to “jiankangxinhainan”(the official wechat and weibo account run by Hainan Provincial Health Commission) and other official wechat accounts such as “Hinews” for updated information of the epidemic, the list of designated hospitals in Hainan, and preventive and treatment guide. If you have any questions, please call 24-hour hotline: 12320, for further information.
II. Strengthen self-protection. Maintain good personal hygiene by washing hands often with soap or alcohol-based sanitizer. Cover your coughs or sneezes with a tissue. No spitting. Dispose of used masks according to regulations. Keep your room properly ventilated and clean. Avoid close contact with any wild animal or poultry. Eggs and meat should be thoroughly cooked. Drink more hot water.
III. Minimize outdoor activities. Avoid crowded places, parties and group activities. Correctly wear a mask if you have to go and attend one. If you have mild to severe respiratory infection symptoms such as fever, cough, breathing difficulty or fatigue, please go to a designated hospital with a mask on.
IV. Cooperate in the joint preventive and control efforts. If you have visited the infected area (now back to Hainan), or had contact with people who are from the epidemic area, please closely observe your health condition and stay at home. If you feel uncomfortable please report to the local disease control authorities or designated departments. Please cooperate with government or community personnel or medical staff if they inquire about your condition.
Hainan is our common home. Let’s work together for the prevention and control of the epidemic and safeguard the health of all Chinese and non-Chinese citizens in Hainan.
