HEFEI — A new section of high-speed railway route connecting Hefei, capital of East China's Anhui province, and Huzhou in East China's Zhejiang province is scheduled to start operation on June 28.
With a design speed of 350 kph, the route is part of the southern section of the Shangqiu-Hefei-Hangzhou high-speed railway. The northern section of the railway, from Shangqiu of Henan province to Hefei went into operation in December 2019, according to the China Railway Shanghai Group Co Ltd.
With an investment of more than 99 billion yuan (around $14 billion), the Shangqiu-Hefei-Hangzhou high-speed railway covers a distance of 794.55 km.
