BEIJING — China's State Council announced the appointment and removal of officials on March 16.
Zuo Li was appointed as vice-minister of justice; Xiong Maoping as vice-director of the State Administration for Market Regulation; Wang Linggui as vice-president of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, replacing Cai Fang; Xiao Yuanqi as vice-chairman of the China Banking and Insurance Regulatory Commission; Sun Jianli as deputy head of the National Public Complaints and Proposals Administration, replacing Xu Siming; Zhang Xin as deputy head of the National Mine Safety Administration; Li Zhaozong as head of the National Administration of State Secrets Protection, replacing Tian Jing; Yin Zonghua as deputy head of the Liaison Office of the Central People's Government in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region; and Zhang Wei as vice-chairman of the Board of Executive Directors of the China Disabled Persons' Federation, replacing Jia Yong.
Meanwhile, Ye Jianchun was removed from the post of vice-minister of water resources, and Huang Hong and Zhu Shumin from the post of vice-chairmen of the China Banking and Insurance Regulatory Commission.
