Solarpower, or photovoltaics (PV) is a significant part of the poverty alleviation campaign in China. Zhushan county has spent 500 million yuan ($76 million) on building 34 PV power stations. Revenue from the projects has helped improve local infrastructure and boost the incomes of 12, 000 poor households across the county.
