China welcomed in the Lunar New Year last night, with the Spring Festival Gala taking center stage as usual in the celebrations.

The gala was broadcast in over 170 countries, reaching more than 1.1 billion people, including over half a billion online.

The event was praised for its use of cutting-edge technologies, incorporating 8K Ultra High Definition that gave viewers the sharpest possible picture.
