China is eyeing an upgraded opening of the Hainan free trade port, as it has just issued a negative list for cross-border trade in services in the province. The government is hoping the southern island province can become a globally influential free trade port by the middle of the century.
It is China's first negative list targeted at cross-border services trade. This negative list includes 70 regulatory measures targeted at overseas services providers in 11 categories. The list aims to boost the opening-up of the province's service industry.
