Expansion of Kashgar International Airport in Kashgar, Northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region, is in full swing.

Construction work of the main structure of the new terminal of the airport has been finished, and decoration work is currently being carried out. The whole project is expected to be completed by the end of this year.

After the expansion, the airport's passenger and cargo throughput is expected to reach 5 million and 60,000 metric tons, respectively.
