CHIZHOU — The construction of Anhui section of Baihetan-Zhejiang 800-kilovolt ultra-high-voltage (UHV) direct current power transmission project is underway along the Yangtze River in Chizhou, East China's Anhui province.
Constructors have to work at height to build two river crossing towers of 345 meters tall. The towers are expected to be completed by the end of August this year.
Covering a total length of 2,140.2 kilometers, the project is an important part of the China's west-to-east power transmission program.
