Guangzhou Shipyard International delivered the world's first double-ended battery hybrid roll-on/roll-off (RoRo) passenger ship to a UK company on February 28. The vessel, 230.5 meters long and 30.8 meters wide has a service speed of up to 20.8 knots, roughly 38.5 kilometers per hour. It can carry up to 1,500 passengers and over 700 vehicles of different types. It can switch its propulsion mode between fuel and battery with one button, minimizing air pollution.
