The State Council has decided to establish a steering group to resolve late wage payments for migrant workers and protect their legal rights.

According to a circular released on Aug 15, the group will play a role in major policy implementation, work coordination, policy research, and supervision on regulations and laws regarding payment of migrant workers.

Led by Vice-Premier Hu Chunhua, the group will be composed of six deputy group leaders and members from State Council departments and bureaus.

The office of the working group is to be located at the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security, which will be in charge of the regular work, and meetings will be convened from time to time as needed.
