The State Council released a circular on Oct 17, agreeing on an inter-ministry joint conference system led by the National Development and Reform Commission and the Ministry of Commerce to promote the upgrading and expansion of the home services industry.
The joint conference system, consisting of 18 departments and units, are required to make overall plans, give policy support, and provide technical guidance in order to solve any major problems in the process of upgrading and expanding the home services industry, according to the circular.
Medium- and long-term development plans and major policies for the industry should also be formulated, the circular added.
The circular also called for a professional and standardized home service industry that can grow bigger and use the internet.
