The General Office of the State Council on July 27 issued a document for establishing the inter-ministerial joint conference system of the State Council on high-quality development in trade to strengthen guidance and coordination in the sector.
The joint conference will be responsible for coordinating pushing forward high-quality development in trade, studying and deliberating related work plans and proposed important policies, and solving major issues occurring in the process, among other responsibilities.
Led by the Ministry of Commerce, the joint conference also contains 29 other departments, including the National Development and Reform Commission, the People’s Bank of China, and the State Administration of Foreign Exchange.
With Hu Chunhua, vice-premier of the State Council, serving as the convener, the joint conference counts officials with those departments as its members.
Its office will be set at the Ministry of Commerce for routine operations, with meetings held as needed.
