China released a list of 80 State facilities and sites that will mark the 75th anniversary of victory in the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression (1937-45), which falls on Sept 3.
The list, the third of its kind, outlines sites related to events involving Japanese war crimes and Japan’s surrender, as well as locations where Chinese forces fought Japanese invaders, according to a statement released by the State Council.
Departments and local governments have been instructed to enhance protection over the sites, display to the public historical materials and publicize heroic deeds concerning the war, and organize people to visit the sites and pay respects to the heroes, the statement said.
They are also required to educate the public, especially young people, to fully understand the extent of war crimes committed by the Japanese occupiers and appreciate China’s contribution to victory in the anti-fascist war.
