The General Office of the State Council praised the provincial governments of Zhejiang, Jiangsu, Shandong and Anhui for outstanding achievements in implementing the strictest system of water resource management during the 13th Five-Year Plan (2016-2020) period, according to a circular issued on Sept 28.

The circular also urged all regions and departments to fully apply the new development concept and foster a new development paradigm to enhance solid control over water resources.

With reasonable planning in population, cities and industries, more work should be done to implement the national water conservation action to support the green transformation of economic and social development, the circular said.
