The State Council approved adjusting functions and member units for the inter-ministerial joint conference system on protection of intangible cultural heritage (ICH), in a circular released by the General Office of the State Council on Feb 17.
Led by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, the joint meeting system consists of 20 departments, including the United Front Work Department of the CPC Central Committee, the Cyberspace Administration of China, the National Development and Reform Commission, the Ministry of Education, and the Ministry of Science and Technology.
Officials in charge of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism will serve as the convener for the joint conference, with an office at the ministry to carry out routine work.
The joint system will hold regular or unscheduled meetings as necessary, according to the circular.
