The General Office of the State Council issued a circular on March 22 to assess government’s work on food safety.
On an annual basis, the assessment will include routine assessments, mid-year random inspections, evaluations on food safety, year-end self-inspections, year-end evaluations, comprehensive assessments and result reports, the circular said.
The circular noted the four-tier assessment result represented by A, B, C, D.
According to the circular, the assessment will involve basic work, annual key work and conditions of food safety and some deduction and bonus items.
