The State Council General Office has released a notification on establishing the leading group for the fifth national economic census.

The group, headed by Vice-Premier Ding Xuexiang, will be in charge of the organization and implementation of the census and addressing any major issues. Four senior officials were appointed as deputy heads.

The group also includes seven members who are mainly senior officials from State Council departments and organs.

With its office set up in the National Bureau of Statistics, the group will undertake daily work for these tasks.
