The State Council has agreed to let Liaoning province host the 15th National Winter Games in 2028, in a reply letter to the General Administration of Sports, Ministry of Finance, on Oct 25.

The government of Liaoning province should finance the preparation and hosting of the games, while the central government will provide a one-time subsidy, according to the letter.

It also stressed that the central government subsidy will mainly be used for hosting the games and maintenance for venues and facilities. The provincial government should cover the funding for building the venues and facilities.
